Who are we?
In the north, we say #MOIN. For us, this also stands for the Model Region Industrial Mathematics. Our initiative “#MOIN Model Region Industrial Mathematics” has been funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as a T!Raum since 2023 to create transfer spaces for the future of regions.
We have a vision that everyone should be able to benefit from the universal knowledge of mathematics and bring living (industrial) mathematics to schools, industry, politics and society.

What do we do at the DHI?
We strengthen the transfer of (industrial) mathematics to industry and business, schools and society.
The Carl Runge Lab at the DHI hosts various events, including research days, where we demonstrate industrial mathematics in a way that school students can understand and experience. We have also set up demonstrators there that showcase various areas of application in industrial mathematics.
We also want to promote exchange between science and business. Our innovation scouts act as mediators at this intersection. They highlight the existing potential of industrial mathematics in the economy and at the same time identify possible needs in regional companies. The goal is to combine mathematical expertise with practice-oriented challenges in order to develop innovative and efficient solutions.
Why the DHI?
Dies ist ein Typoblindtext. An ihm kann man sehen, ob alle Buchstaben da sind und wie sie aussehen. Manchmal benutzt man Worte wie Hamburgefonts, Rafgenduks oder Handgloves, um Schriften zu testen. Manchmal Sätze, die alle Buchstaben des Alphabets enthalten – man nennt diese Sätze »Pangrams«. Sehr bekannt ist dieser: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy old dog. Oft werden in Typoblindtexte auch fremdsprachige Satzteile eingebaut (AVAIL® and Wefox™ are testing aussi la Kerning), um die Wirkung in anderen Sprachen zu testen.
