Whether on the production floor, in the office or in the research lab — there is a shortage of skilled workers everywhere. But challenges need ideas — and they exist. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) is currently calling for the development and implementation of new approaches to securing skilled workers and integrating them into the workforce.
The Innovation Program for Business Models and Pioneering Solutions (IGP) provides targeted support for projects that break new ground in ensuring the supply of skilled workers and labor market integration. The focus here is on market-oriented, practical solutions.
What is eligible for funding?
For instance, new training formats, digital tools for the workplace, approaches for integrating international specialists, inclusion, work-life balance and support for people with special support needs. The range is broad — the decisive factor is that the idea is innovative and can have an impact.
Who can participate?
Small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, the freelance and non-profit organizations are eligible to participate. Universities and research institutions can also take part — for example in cooperation with companies. This makes the call particularly exciting for the innovation landscape in Bremen.
How is the process carried out?
Applications for the first selection round can be submitted online until August 19, 2025 at 15:00. The most convincing ideas will be invited to a pitch. This will be followed by the opportunity to submit a full application. In addition to financial support, the program offers a platform to make innovative projects visible and develop them further in a more targeted manner.
