Visionaries wanted! The Bremen Aerospace Research Program 2027 is starting a new round – and offers the opportunity to turn groundbreaking ideas into reality. As of now, companies, and research institutions can submit their project outlines until March 17, 2025.
Why Bremen is the perfect location
Bremen is one of the leading aerospace locations in Europe. This is where innovative companies, excellent research facilities and strong networking come together. It is hardly surprising that Ralf Stapp, Chairman and Managing Director of BAB, has high expectations of the new round of calls:
“In previous research funding programs, we have already experienced a high level of participation in the calls for proposals in the aerospace sector, and we are expecting numerous innovative ideas this time too, which underline the strength of Bremen’s innovation landscape.”
What is being funded?
Forward-looking projects are being sought that develop environmentally friendly aerospace systems and strengthen Bremen as a technological location. Projects from the fields of
- Space transportation and reusability in space travel
- New flying (e.g. climate-friendly propulsion technologies)
- Protection of critical infrastructure
However, projects from adjacent fields of technology related to aerospace are also welcome.
Who can participate?
No matter whether you are a small start-up, research institution or sizable company – the only important thing is that you are based in Bremen or Bremerhaven and that the project only launches after approval. The idea should involve technical and financial risk and have the potential to achieve commercial success.
The best part:
Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant for:
- Staff – Bring the brightest minds on board
- Equipment and materials – Use the latest technology for your vision
- Consulting and third-party services – Get the expertise to take you the extra mile
The application process is straightforward: Submit a project outline, have an initial meeting with the BAB and get started.
You can find more information about the application and the funding program on the BAB website.
