The mobile networks of the future must become more flexible, intelligent and truly seamless. The 6G-TakeOff consortium meeting brings together experts to shape the next generation of communication technology. The key focus is the development of a unified 3D communication network that connects terrestrial infrastructures with airborne network nodes such as satellites and High Altitude Platforms (HAPS).

With its research, the University of Bremen and in particular the Department of Communications Engineering (ANT) are making an invaluable contribution to the development of 3D communication networks for 6G. The focus here is on how the various components of a network — from ground stations to satellites — can be intelligently connected with each other. The aim is to transmit data more efficiently, optimize the flow of information between the individual components and develop new reception technologies.
