The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom is pleased to invite you to a free event dealing with the latest developments in the field of space commercialization. Find out more about the current importance of satellite technologies and the associated opportunities and risks.

In recent years, fundamental changes have been observed in the way in which states and private actors perceive and utilize the possibilities of space travel. They manifest themselves particularly in the commercialization of space and in the importance of satellite technologies as enablers for many economic sectors and as critical infrastructure for society. Over the past two decades, young companies and start-ups have not only accelerated the pace of innovation in space travel and expanded the potential of space applications for terrestrial purposes, but have also drastically reduced the cost of access to space.

What is going on in space? What data is being collected, and what is it actually used for? What developments are there in Bremen – Germany – Europe? What opportunities and dangers do the new technologies present? What action is needed for a sustainable space policy?

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom will be discussing these questions with Dr. Arne Gausepohl, Member of the Executive Committee of OHB SE & Managing Director of OHB Digital Services, and Dr. Volker Redder, Member of the German Bundestag, and cordially invites you to join the discussion.
